Tips for a Great Night's Sleep

Sometimes regardless of what we do we can't seem to stop our cortisol levels from surging in the middle of the night. This is why good sleep hygiene is so much more important for those of us who have adrenal fatigue. Not only do you need to learn how to ease into sleeping, you also need to have an "attack plan" if you wake up in the middle of the night and can't seem to get back to sleep.

You also need to let go of your worries for the day. One way of doing this is by writing out a prayer each night in which you leave your worries with God - just remember not to pick them up again the next morning.

Do some stretching... As you stretch, imagine warmth flowing through you. This will help relax your muscles and prepare you to sleep.

Now you should be ready to lie down and go to sleep. Once you find a comfortable position, take 6 really long, slow breaths - in from the nose, out through the mouth. By the end of this you should be sound asleep!
